Ioannis Apostolou, liutaio

Ioannis Apostolou was born in Greece in 1981. He started playing the violin in the age of 8 years and after graduating from the Conservatory of Thessaloniki he moved to Italy to attend The International Violin Making School in Cremona.
Afterwards he had a long working experience with Boris Sverdlik, follower of the New York workshop of Jacques Français and René Morel.
Since 2006, Ioannis has been making fine violins for professional musicians. His instruments are meticulously crafted using the finest materials.
The continuous study of antique varnishes and research into sound brings a unique quality to his instruments. Ioannis repetoire of instruments includes the production of superior replicas of Italian masterpieces of the 17th and 18th century.
In the 2010 he moved in Brescia – Italy where he worked in the Filippo Fasser Workshop for several years.
In the 2017 he opens his own workshop in the center of Brescia.
